There is a rather common joke among women who have been diagnosed that it is "every woman's dream" to find they only have to take a pill to lose those extra pounds! Miss Emma struggled for several years with almost twice the poundage she now carries. Thankfully, she was diagnosed and although the cure requires she be on the medication for life, it is a safe and happy remedy! Thanks for asking ... there might be others who would like to know. best to you, KittieKittie Beletichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14247839148961989257noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1336781453173371730.post-52697723493101139582011-12-16T13:38:39.911-08:002011-12-16T13:38:39.911-08:00Lovely

Doesn't mean I wasn't afraid, but that I realized that I needed to make the choice and take the risk to come from a more honest place. And that's something that can overlay on the tiniest and the biggest things we face through any day. And when 'change' is in the air — as it feels like it is for so many of us — then it takes courage to take the actions and make the declarations to move away from what has been, and towards what we feel called to... the courageous "yes" and "no" that this requires. Most people seem to have a 'signature palette' of emotions that they express with and stay within... some rather limited, others very colorful and vibrant. Sometimes people are just afraid of some of the emotions on the palette, and never use them Maybe it's how they grew up. Some seem really emotionally intelligent, discerning with the palette of feelings they could be choosing to live, then there are those clumsy times where our emotional expression sort of spoils a picture that could have used a lighter hand. We've all been there. But it's learning... just as we have to do with ALL of the palettes of creativity, whether of art, or life.Ken Johnstonhttp://www.kenjohnston.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1336781453173371730.post-66411611395679025942011-01-24T09:18:07.551-08:002011-01-24T09:18:07.551-08:00"Sensitivity" is an aspect of being that..."Sensitivity" is an aspect of being that certainly can vary, in our day-to-day, and as a foundational state in someone's personality. Josh has said many times the song is not about any god or person in particular, it's simply a very uplifting and inspirational song and he wants ppl to interpret it for themselves as you did. A lot of ppl try to make his music about God, but he says his only songs concerning God are on the Christmas album. He doesn't want to narrow the meaning of the songs at all. When I'm able, I get up early, before the sun - I let the dog and the cat outside, make a cup of coffee and light a candle (my vision board site directly above the candle) to ease into the day. I put on some morning music and settle in with my journal. I did it a couple of mornings ago and when I read your story of "coincidences" I remembered something I jotted down ... "Like an aura around the tree of life in my vision board, the words glow and pulsate; they breathe in the candlelight." Although I chose a different tree for my image, it is also my 'tree of life'! The image by Jorge Stolfi is such a wonderful one! Rearranging oneself is actually fun, like a jigsaw puzzle, moving the pieces about, fitting them together to make a new picture of you!

I would love to hear about what you do, share more thoughts. Earlier this evening I decided I wanted to write an "I will" statement. I took a look-see on Google to find a graphic of a tree that I would want to write upon...found a drawing by Jorge Stolfi's...and preceded to write. I then did a search to learn more about this artist...saw a green colored graphic of the same tree...which led me to your site...and when scanning down your blog....happened upon your "Vision Board" that perfectly described what I had JUST completed prior to finding the definition of what I had just done! I'm still shaking my head! Amazing. And now I've just learn the tree, Jorge's tree, is aptly named "A Self-Adjusting Search Tree". Too cool. I named my Vision Board...."My Tree of Life" and portrays my life story...which, like for everyone, has always been a wonderful self-adjusting search tree to help me find my way. And I found my way here...to you. Fascinating! Thank you for your positing. You've touched my heart and made a friend and we've met - although not in person yet.Eklectikahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09741951325123662704noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1336781453173371730.post-20773928805820217402010-02-04T07:35:03.432-08:002010-02-04T07:35:03.432-08:00Way cool use of visuals to make your splendid poin...Way cool use of visuals to make your splendid point, Kittie!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17401213934500439572noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1336781453173371730.post-67245474674473351362009-12-10T19:51:39.342-08:002009-12-10T19:51:39.342-08:00That may be the mother of all mother stories, Kitt...That may be the mother of all mother stories, Kittie! Since I'd been aiming just to complete a mile while running it, and in under 14 minutes, I might add(I know you marathoners are holding onto your obliques from laughter), Rohe's words were like Gospel music to my ears: I ran w/a slower stride taking deeper breaths and before I barely knew it, I ran a whole mile and I felt terriffic! He was a humorist in the 20's, 30's, and 40's and one of my favorite writers. He could write about the most mundane things imaginable, such as cleaning out a desk, and turn out an article that would have me laughing out loud. Sometimes the words wouldn't come, however. Since he had at various times signed contracts to write regular columns for magazines like The New Yorker and Vanity Faire this was a problem. For much of his life he lived in a New York Hotel and he'd much rather be celebrating at the bar with friends like Dorothy Parker and Alexander Woolcott than working on an article upstairs.

One night when he was up against a deadline he sat down, put a fresh sheet of paper in his typewriter, and stared at the blank page for almost an hour. Feeling that a break would do him some good he went downstairs and partied with his friends for a couple of hours. Reluctantly he dragged himself back upstairs and stared at the paper some more. He typed the word "The" as he figured it was as good a way as any to start an article and he was tired of staring at a blank page. After staring at that single word for about 30 minutes he finished the sentence "hell with it." and went back downstairs.Stevehttp://random-writings.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1336781453173371730.post-26941996712242195212009-11-30T21:51:39.961-08:002009-11-30T21:51:39.961-08:00Happiness is all around us, but we need to sharpen...Happiness is all around us, but we need to sharpen our senses in order to appreciate it. There is joy in an early morning walk. Or in listening to the frothy giggle of a four-year-old. Or when you glance across a room and notice your husband's wide shoulders as he walks toward you. Or when you hear your dog's tail madly thumping against the floor, as he greets you.

It's amazing how the simplest things bring us pleasure. You and your friends sipping wine in front of a fire, sharing a wildly hilarious story. Or discussing intense political views.

However, joy is not always fun. Sometimes it is painful as we try to express ourselves. But there's a great reward in just trying to communicate our feelings.

And that's the key. As long as we try to reach out to others or work toward a goal, we will discover great happiness. The joy is in the doing. Whether we are sharing a joke with a friend, baking a cake, birthing baby, combing our hair, applying lipstick, or completing the final page of our novel, we are involved the act of doing. And the effort of creating opens our heart and allows us to feel. Really feel.

That's pure joy!Pamela Stonehttp://www.pamstonewriter.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1336781453173371730.post-42677915881421893342009-11-14T05:43:30.095-08:002009-11-14T05:43:30.095-08:00Oooooh...how I love that quote - "What else i...Oooooh...how I love that quote - "What else is there but to dream and do?" So many people live their entire lives this way. We spend much of our life working. Finding a way to make our existing job fun is a step in the right direction. Appreciating it for the money it brings or the people you work with or the skills you're learning reframes your day, makes it easier and more fun. America is in a transitional state right now. So many people are out of jobs and finding ways to creatively make money. Many are turning toward something they've always wanted to do and giving it a try as their job. I know several people who have volunteered with organizations/companies they respect and admire and have gotten jobs through their volunteer work! Only YOU know what you love, what brings meaning and satisfaction to you. Try this: Make the list, start talking to people about it and make a commitment to doing 3 things each day toward making it happen.
